Advertising Club

I recently joined the Advertising Club as well as the competition team for the Advertising Club. This club has many events where I am able t meet prospective employers as well as learn about my major and connect with older students. One such event was MARC USA, which is an advertising company, they discussed job opportunities and internships at their company.

Guest Speaker 8/27

For your first class, Professor Chandler talked to us about and showed us some examples of multimedia. I think this was a good start to the class and I enjoyed getting to see examples of how multimedia is used. I find it interesting how written articles are combined with multimedia allowing people to be able to both see and read a story. I think this is a good way to get news across for those who may be short on time as well as those who would rather read a story.

Library Visit

Last week we visited the library where Ms. McCallips spoke with us about them may resources the library and the College of Communications have. This was interesting for me because I was unaware of how many resources are available to me as a student. I am especially excited for the resources that I have free access to while I am here that I would have to pay for if I was not a Penn State student. I am grateful that we were shown these resources because I now have an abundance sites I can use if I have a project or a paper requiring research.

Guest Speakers

This week we had guest speakers in class, Michelle Bixby and Jill Knight. I found both of these speakers very interesting and insightful. I found it interesting that both of them have their own photography businesses (I have been thinking about possibly starting one of my own). Both of their jobs seem exciting and fun and maybe something I want to do some day.
